Junior High Science Teacher (Posted February 1, 2024)

Our student enrollment numbers are trending upwards. With an increase in the number of students we serve comes a need to expand our teaching team. This particular need entails expanding our special education program for the 2024-25 school year. Instead of two teachers managing an entire K-8 special education caseload, we are adding a third teacher to the mix. Adding a third teacher to our special education program for the upcoming school year not only addresses a caseload that is increasing but also enhances our capacity to tailor instruction to individual student needs.

Our current junior high science teacher, Mrs. Garren, has expressed interest in transitioning to the role of junior high special education teacher. Because as a school district we believe strongly in supporting our staff and their professional goals as well as advancing from within, we fully endorse Mrs. Garren's transition to the junior high special education teacher role.

Due to Mrs. Garren's change in teaching assignment for the 2024-25 school year, we now have a junior high science vacancy. With that being said, please consider sharing the below job posting with anyone certified to teach junior high science that might be interested in joining our Bulldog family.

Calling all educators certified to teach middle school science in Illinois. We have an exciting opportunity for you. GES Is looking for a passionate educator to take our 5th through 8th grade science program to the next level for the 2024-25 school year. If you have leadership qualities and yearn for a job in a school district that will give you opportunities to develop those qualities, this is the job for you. The district anticipates an administrative vacancy in the near future and is open to developing a leader from within the school for this position if the right candidate comes along. Not interested in taking on a leadership role but have a passion for providing junior high students with an innovative, hands-on science curriculum, we want you to apply too. Whether looking for your first job in education or wanting a change, we welcome all candidates to apply. We honor all years of experience at GES.

Now is an exciting time to join our Bulldog family as we are growing. Last summer, we broke ground on Phase I of a construction project, the addition of 2 early childhood classrooms. Those classrooms are near completion. Phase II will follow at some point in the near future and includes the construction of a new gym. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get a front row seat for all the excitement to come. If you desire to work in an Exemplary district with a family atmosphere that embraces creativity and a team approach, this is the job for you.

Interested candidates are asked to send a cover letter, resume, and letters of recommendation to Robin Becker at rbecker@ges60.org or 401 Walnut Street, PO Box 400, Germantown, IL, 62245. Interviews will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
