19th Annual Bulldog Dash, a Glowing Success!
The 19th Annual Germantown Bulldog Dash 5K and 2K Run/Walk was a record breaking fundraising event for Germantown Elementary School. After three years of virtual races due to Covid, the Bulldog Dash came back in a big way. Over 400 runners and walkers, dressed in neon, lit up the night for The Neon Night Fun Run! The Friday night family event was full of positive energy!
This year’s Neon Night Fun Run netted over $30,000 to benefit Germantown Elementary School. In its nineteen-year history, the event has provided the school over $350,000 in proceeds. The Board of Education plans to continue using event proceeds to support school initiatives that lack funding. Funds raised through the 19th Annual Bulldog Dash will be allocated to maintaining and upgrading technology.
Jansen Chevrolet served as the 2023 Diamond Sponsor. Local businesses generously sponsored the event again this year. Participants enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs compliments of the Germantown Kernel Nut Club along with drinks and snacks donated by several event sponsors.
The Bulldog community would like to thank Jamie Dumstorff for dedicating 7 years to leading the committee. She decided to step down after 2022, and this year the Bulldog Dash Committee welcomed a new Chair, Michelle Winkeler. Committee members include Robin Becker, Melanie Korte, Kristin Zurliene, Shelly Kohrmann, Brandy Pingsterhaus, Crystal Gebke, Allison Schroeder, Jamie Wilburn, Jessica Hester, Andrea Toennies, Shannon Hickman, Ali Schulte and Erica Redman.
In 2024, we eagerly anticipate commemorating the 20th Annual Bulldog Dash in grand style.
