The Marching Bulldogs took to the streets of Germantown this morning in preparation for their upcoming parades. What a beautiful morning for some marching practice.

Eighth grade is playing Bocce Ball in PE. They are putting their throwing skills and teamwork skills to the test, and they are doing an outstanding job!

We would like to give the Germantown Kernel Nut Club a BIG shoutout for sponsoring the Student of the Month Program again this school year. In addition to the SOM Program, this year the KNC fully sponsored the House Program. Both programs greatly benefit the community children.
For the KNC, it's all about the kids. Please considering supporting future KNC sponsored events.

The PTA’s annual fundraiser will once again be a raffle. Each family will be asked to sell 10 raffle tickets with each ticket costing $10. The tickets will be sent home with the students today. Please be on the lookout for them.
Every Friday starting October 22 through May 6, a $100 winner will be drawn. On Friday, May 13, (2) $500 winners will be drawn. All money raised through the raffle will be allocated to technology. It is imperative to the financial well-being of the school district and benefits the students greatly. Your help with selling tickets will be very much appreciated.
At this time, we are looking for businesses, and/or individuals that are interested in serving as a weekly sponsor for the $100 weekly drawings. If interested in serving as a raffle sponsor, email Trisha Weekley at tweekley@ges60.org, call the school office at 523-4253, or send the sponsorship money to school in a sealed envelope. Checks should be made payable to the Germantown PTA. Thank you for considering.

The Bartelso Knights of Columbus hosted a breakfast on May 23 with proceeds to be distributed amongst the teachers at Bartelso and Germantown. Today, Bartelso Knights of Columbus representatives, Aaron Gebke and Eric Gebke, presented Superintendent Becker with a $100 gift card for each teacher in the school district to spend on supplies for their classroom. A BIG thank you goes out to the good people at the Bartelso Knights of Columbus and everyone that worked and supported the breakfast. We are very fortunate that our local schools have so much support from the greater community.

Fifth grade is showing off their first set of notes in their interactive notebooks in ELA! You'll find them hard at work cutting and pasting notes about the four types of sentences.

Mrs. Eversgerd's 6th grade ELA class is learning standard RL.6.4 which includes identifying unknown words, connotation/denotation, and figurative language. The students are pictured matching words with their denotation and connotation. Hands-on learning is so much fun!

The Class of 2022 is ready to lead the way to a FANTASTIC school year.

Our 7th grade students celebrate a record breaking performance with the first ever positive DoJo rating of 100% for the week.
While the 7th grade class earned the title of top dogs for the week, all of the junior high classes had a fantastic start to the school year. All DoJo ratings were above 90%: 5th grade - 99%, 6th grade - 96%, 7th grade - 100%, and 8th grade - 91%.
Bulldog Country stands proud of all of our junior high students.

5th and 6th are re-exposing themselves to some ELA terms while searching for them in this word search. A relaxing way to ease back into the terminology!

Please help us welcome the kindergarten Class of 2030 to school. For this group of students, this marks the first time they will go to school all day. These students will grow in so many ways this year. We look forward to watching them on their journey. At GES we are #FAMILY!

Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, it's off to school we go. Check out the upcoming events scheduled at GES for our first week of the 2021-22 school year. We look forward to working closely with our Bulldog families to make it a year filled with success.

Germantown Elementary SD #60 is hoping to start a transitional kindergarten program for the 2022-23 school year. This program will serve 4 year olds that are not part of our morning PreK program and 5 year olds whose parents opted to wait a year to send their child to kindergarten. We envision transitional kindergarten being a bridge between PreK and kindergarten with the focus remaining on play-based learning while also incorporating a little more in the way of structured activities. It will be a full day, tuition-based program that meets every day that school is in session from 8:30-3:05.
We are looking for a rock star teacher with early childhood certification to develop and lead this program. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for one lucky teacher to be part of building something new from the ground up and leading the way to full implementation of the program next August. While the teaching assignment would officially begin in August of 2022, the groundwork will begin as soon as we have a candidate ready to take on this exciting endeavor. Stipend pay will be offered for time spent developing the program. The work can be completed on nights and weekends so as not to interfere with the candidate’s work or school schedule.
If you are passionate about early childhood education, possess strong leadership skills, and are driven by challenge, please consider sending your resume and cover letter to Robin Becker at rbecker@ges60.org. We are eager to get started planning for this program.
